This year why not dance under the palm trees rather than the usual encrusted ornate plaster or vaulted wooden ceiling? The Scottish Moroccan Society is pleased to invite you to join them for a weekend of fun over the weekend of the 30th November 2019. Plans are underway to showcase the best that Marrakech can offer combined with the sophisticated pipers and kilts. Kilts and Caftans together!! This year our nominated charity will be Education For All, run by the brilliant Sir Mike McHugo.

THURSDAY. For those that can come early, please join us at The Compton ( for some live music. Soak up the atmosphere with a chilled glass and tapas. Full menu available too.

FRIDAY. Hot Air Ballooning watching the sunrise over Marrakech is a real treat and something not to miss. Ciel D’Afrique are the expert in the skies and promise to provide something unforgettable.

Later on the evening will start with an informal Moroccan buffet dinner at one of Marrakech’s iconic restaurants. Details to be confirmed…..

During the day on SATURDAY, you will be able to visit the project Education For All and see 1st hand the girls boarding houses. You will able to listen to their personal stories and really get an understanding on how important this project is. There are no middle men – every single penny and centime will be making its way to aid a young girls life. A luxury picnic BBQ lunch will be organised amongst the trees at the foothills of the Atlas mountains. We should leave mid morning and by back mid afternoon.

Those that want to take some time on the golf course, transport and tee times can be arranged. Christmas shopping in the souk or relaxing in the hammam are the possible other options. Please let us know.

SATURDAY EVENING is the main event! Shuttle minibuses will be available to ferry you to the venue where you will be greeted by Gnaoua musicians. Enjoy an aperitif and the Bagpiper whilst looking at the numerous Silent Auction lots before dinner and spend some time to bag your partners for the after dinner reeling! The Ceilidh band will be getting us all going start later. A light buffet breakfast will be served before leaving.

SUNDAY is Brunch/BBQ poolside day! Join us for at a wonderful countryside hotel situated at the foot-hills of the Atlas mountains for a relaxing day listening to a DJ and sipping champagne! Try the famous Moroccan Mechaoui (slow cooked lamb) or a hog roast from The Compton Events Catering team!

MONDAY – There are several day trips to explore the beauty and diversity of Morocco. Only 30 minutes from town centre is Aghmat – a medieval city that predates Marrakech. We have exclusive access with a guide should you want to visit.

Sea and surf is a short 2 hours away. The picturesque town of Essaouria boasts of the freshest seafood and was home to scenes from The Game of Thrones. Essaouria has an airport that has connections to Europe.
